Inroduction

We are proud and excited to welcome Dr. Shannon Kerns to the Master Eye Associates family of doctors.  Dr. Kerns, and her husband, recently moved to Austin from Dallas.  Dr. Kerns states, “The reason I chose to live and practice in Austin is because the city is gorgeous and I truly enjoy the genuinely friendly people that live here!” 
Educationally, Dr. Kerns earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned her Doctorate of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  Dr. Kerns graduated with clinical honors at multiple rotation sites around the country.  “My educational background has equipped me with the necessary knowledge to provide my patients with the best eye care possible.”    
In addition, Dr. Kerns is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist, as well as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.  Both distinctions enable Dr. Kerns to provide full scope comprehensive optometric exams for her patients in primary care, contact lenses, and the treatment and management of ocular diseases, particularly glaucoma.  Dr. Kerns has a solid history and a proven passion for the ocular health of her patients and with her board certification in these two particular specialties allows her to ensure the very best long term eye health care of her patients.
Dr. Kerns is a contributing member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.
