Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist

Dr. Emily Simonek is a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist and has a special interest in contact lens specialty lenses and difficult contact lens cases. She was born and raised in Big Spring, TX and is a graduate of Big Spring High School, where she graduated with honors. She received her undergraduate education from The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with
a bachelors degree in biology in 2005. She then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, one of the top ranked colleges of optometry in the United States. While in optometry school she acted as her class representative (2nd and 3rd year) and was a member of many student organizations including the American Optometric Student Association (Fundraising Chair, 3rd year), Students' Texas Optometric Association, and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. Dr. Simonek gained further experience while on her externships in pre and post-operative cataract surgery care and management of diabetic retinopathy. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009 and has practiced at Master Eye Associates since graduation. She is currently a member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is excited to be able to live in and serve the eye care needs of the residents of the Austin area.
When she's not seeing patients, Dr. Simonek enjoys cooking, reading, spending time with her family and her dogs, going to church, enjoying Lady Bird Lake and Lake Austin, and watching UT Longhorn football.
