Dr. David Mei

Dr. David Mei was born in Chicago, Illinois and has practiced as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in the state of Texas since 2014. His undergraduate degree was completed at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then earned his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree at the Illinois College of Optometry. He spent his training under Ophthalmologists and Optometrists from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida and Gordan Shanzlin Vision Institute in California. He has a passion for diagnosing and treating various eye diseases and conditions such as
glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. He also enjoys managing complicated specialty contact lens fits and multifocal fits.

Over the years, he has developed a passion for the co-management of LASIK surgery and various cataract surgeries including multifocal lens implants and light adjustable lens implants. Dr. Mei has been involved in professional associations such as the American Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, Texas Optometric Association, and National Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Mei enjoys volunteering and likes to travel abroad around the world. He plays sports like sand volleyball, trains as a crossfitter, enjoys various genres of music, and eating good food.
